| Thallus fawn, thin, smooth, glossy. Ascomata conspicuous, scattered, sessile, black, straight, curved or sinuous, occasionally branched, with a conspicuous thalline margin, open, 1–4 (–6) mm long, 0.5–0.7 (–0.9) mm wide, 0.4–0.5 mm tall. Disc black, finely white-pruinose. Proper exciple completely carbonised, laterally thin, tapering towards the base; base c. 250 µm thick. Hymenium c. 100 µm thick. Ascospores irregularly biseriate, cylindrical with rounded ends, 6-locular, 21–25 × 6–7 µm. CHEMISTRY: 4-O-demethylnotatic acid [nornotatic acid] (major), hypoprotocetraric acid (minor). |
